Welcome to the 61st Season!

Our 2008-2009 concert season explores a wide range of themes and compositions spanning many centuries, countries and styles. On the classical side we mix cornerstones of the repertoire such as Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto, Sibelius’Violin Concerto, and a number of neglected treasures like Kalinnikov’s highly romantic First Symphony.

POPS will feature a major artist from the L.A. musical scene in February; we will also drop by Boston (A Tribute to Arthur Fiedler); and England with a musical story based on Dicken’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL with India as the final stop where THE JUNGLE BOOK will come to life. It also gives us great pleasure to welcome Brock University as the 2008-2009 Season Sponsor. Both the University (Orchestra in Residence) and Centre for the Arts have been integral in assisting theNiagara Symphony formany, many years.

The synergy between an orchestra and its audience is a key element in any creative experience, and we thank the team at Brock for their ongoing commitment to our patrons and this ever-expanding cultural community! To you, our audience, thank you for giving wings to our song. Our future is now!
