Violin

Natalie began her musical studies at the age of 3. She started playing violin at the age of 7. At the age of 16 she received the ARCT performance diploma at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and now holds a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from the University of Toronto. Her list of teachers includes Scott St. John (of the internationally acclaimed St. Lawrence String Quartet), Annalee Patipatanakoon (of the Gryphon Trio), and Katharine Rapoport (pedagogy specialist). Natalie also has an extensive background in music theory and composition, having studied with Abigail Richardson and Alexander Rapoport.
 
She actively performs in orchestras, chamber music, musical theatres, jazz and pop concerts. She is currently a member of the Niagara Symphony Orchestra, and has also been playing with the Sudbury Symphony, Koffler Chamber Orchestra, Opera York, Sneek Peek Orchestra, University of Toronto Baroque Chamber Ensemble, National Academy Orchestra, Royal Conservatory Orchestra, and many more.
 
Natalie is a member of the newly formed concert piano trio, Trio Moonshine, since September 2009. The trio had their successful first performance in June 2010, featuring works of Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, and Jacobchuk. Being very active in Toronto's musical theatre scene, she has played numerous other instruments, as well as violin, for both classical and contemporary productions. Her most recent performance was at the Canadian premiere of "The Light in the Piazza" produced by Acting up Stage Company, and "The Last Five Years" produced by Angelwalk Theatre.
 
In her spare time Natalie enjoys reading, writing, and playing more music.
