Percussion - Sub
David is from St. Catharines and has been playing percussion and drums professionally in the area for the last 25 years. He attained his music and teaching degrees from the University of Western Ontario and has studied at the University of Toronto. David is presently the Music and Arts director at E. L. Crossley S. S. where he teaches brass, woodwind, percussion and guitar. He conducts Concert Bands, Symphonic Wind Ensembles, Percussion groups and a Marching Band. Dave has taught at Brock University and is one of the Niagara Youth Orchestra Percussion instructors. He has toured all over North America and parts of Europe with a variety of groups. He can be heard on several recordings and has done movie and TV work. Besides being a NSO percussion sub and other legit ‘tuxedo gigs’ Dave also plays bass, guitar and keyboards in rock bands; he has played in almost every local bar or nightclub some time in the past two decades. He even did a lengthy run as house drummer for Port Colborne’s Showboat Festival Theatre. Some of the other bands he has played with are Red Herring, Route 66, Cullpepper, Funkinc, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles (ok, some of these he just played along with the records…).
If Dave is not with his wife or daughters, running a high school band, behind a group playing percussion, or conducting, he is probably behind the handlebars of one of his many motorcycles. David is endorsed by Dream Cymbals. |
