Christie GoodwinOboe/English Horn

Principal oboist of the Niagara Symphony and active freelance musician, Christie has been featured as both an oboe and English Horn soloist in addition to appearing as an orchestra member in ensembles throughout Southern Ontario.  She has played with the Kitchener Symphony, the Oshawa-Durham Symphony Orchestra, Opera Ontario, the Windsor Symphony, and the National Academy Orchestra, and has worked with numerous esteemed music directors including Simon Streatfield, Richard Bradshaw and Alain Trudel.  Originally from small-town Alberta, Ms. Goodwin completed her Bachelor’s of Music in performance at the University of British Columbia with teacher Beth Orson of the Vancouver Symphony, and the Artist's Diploma program at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory with former Toronto Symphony Orchestra principal, Richard Dorsey.  Christie teaches music from her home studio in Peterborough, where she resides with her young family.
